Guru Purnima coming up!

So with Guru Purnima coming up on July 12, this year, I thought I'd share some nice artwork  on various Gurus down the ages. Guru Poornima is the first full moon after the Summer Solstice or Dakshinayana. It is held in gratitude to Shiva, the first Guru or Adi Guru. Traditionally, this is a time when one pays their respects to one's Guru, and is considered a very auspicious time to receive Grace.

At one time it was widely celebrated around India, but today, the situation is unfortunately such that the government does not even declare a national holiday!
